Dr Daniel Williams is a locally trained Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon, who undertook a Bachelor of Science (BSc) at the University of Queensland (Brisbane), where he attended St. Leo’s College. He was awarded a scholarship for post-graduate Bachelor of Medicine and a Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at Griffith University (Gold Coast). Dr Williams worked as a junior surgical doctor for 5 years on the Gold Coast, Brisbane and Cairns. He subsequently completed 5 years of advanced training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in Victoria and Queensland. Dr Williams was then awarded his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr Williams has also had the privilege of working with world surgical leaders, completing 2 years of fellowships in Hand, Wrist and Microsurgery. Locally at the Gold Coast University Hospital and internationally at Clinica Cavadas (Valencia, Spain) and Piñal y Associados (Madrid, Spain). His areas of interest are peripheral nerve surgery, wrist arthroscopy and reconstructive hand surgery.In addition to this, Dr Williams completed a 2 month fellowship in Aesthetic Plastic Surgery at Martin Del Yerro Cirujanos Plasticos (Madrid, Spain), where he focused on facial aesthetics, breast surgery and body contouring.Dr Williams works publicly through his appointment at the Gold Coast University Hospital, as a Consultant Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon, where he is involved in training future Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons. Dr Williams has a lifelong commitment to education as a lecturer at Griffith University School of Medicine and Dentistry, teaching medical students. He also has an active role in research, with national and international presentations and publications. When Dr Williams is not working, he loves spending time with his young family and surfing.
